Between Lake Pend Oreille and the Selkirk Mountains lies the charming city of Sandpoint, Idaho. Its location puts all the amenities you might find in a bigger city - including arts, culture, and music - at your fingertips, but surrounded by stunning mountains, pristine lakes, and all the outdoor adventure you could ever want.
With an environment full of activities for the entire family, Sandpoint's charm elevates the level of life we experience here.
First settled as a timber, mining, and railroad town in the twilight of the 19th century, Sandpoint Idaho celebrated the town’s 100th anniversary in February 2001. Though the mining era has faded, and the timber industry is waning, Sandpoint remains a vibrant, cultural city, resplendent in history and tradition. Part of that history is the Long Bridge - as it has come to be called - so named because, at one time, the bridge, built in 1909, was the longest wooden bridge in the world. The bridge links the east side of Lake Pend Oreille to Sandpoint, where visitors can enjoy wilderness experiences and a concert or play in the same day!
Visitors to Sandpoint Idaho are, of course, swept away by the scenery, but they are come to love Sandpoint because of the friendly people who make this town their home.
